In Traditional Oriental Medicine, GB6 usually associated with one or more of the following acupoints : BL65, CV15, DU26, GB4, GB5, LI20, LI4, ST7 to treat: chronic headache, madness, migraine headache due to heat, trigeminal neuralgia.

Chen, R. H. (2002). Clinical observation on the treatment of migraine with acupuncture at the acupoint of GB6 (Xuanli). Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science, 1(3), 48-50. This study found that acupuncture at the Xuanli acupoint was effective in treating migraine headaches, with a success rate of 83.33%.
